7 Summer Jams You Need On Your Playlist ASAP

One of the key ingredients to a memorable summer is the perfect summer song. So we’ve compiled a list of the best summer jams the radio isn’t playing to help you craft your perfect summer ’16!!!

1. DJ Snake- Talk (Feat. George Maple). – This Track strikes the perfect balance between the melancholy mood of a well-crafted love song and an addictive, incredibly well=composed dance beat, generating one hell of a summer jam.

2. Calvin Harris- This is What You Came For (Ft. Rihanna). – Since Scottish EDM Calvin Harris’s crossover debut in 2009, barely a single summer has passed without him releasing a summer banger. This summer Harris, with the musical stylings of Rihanna.

3. Avi on Fire- Pearls- The first single off their upcoming EP, “Pearls” is a tremendously catchy ode to 60s pop rock in the guise of modern indie pop. The jazzy musicality of the track plus the insanely catchy hook and “vintage” feeling vocals make for an awesome driving down the coast summer jam.

4. Kaiser Chiefs- Parachute – “Parachute” represents a stark departure from British Rock Band Kaiser Chief’s signature aesthetic and it couldn’t have worked out better. As this writer’s favorite track on this list, parachute represents everything a summer love song should be; it’s fun, its fresh, its danceable, the lyrics are fantastic, it’s incredibly well produced and overall one hell of a feel good song. It’s almost an instant classic.

5. Piece Fulton- Borrowed Lives (Feat. NVDES) --“Borrowed Lives” is another great example of an awesome indie pop track. This time the vocals and the lyrics are the most compelling aspects of the track followed by the melody and arrangement. It’s the perfect track to throw on the radio and just drive to.

6. Galantis- No Money – No Money is perhaps the oddest and most colourful dance track this writer has heard in years. Coming from Swedish dance power house Galantis, “No Money” is a care free Euro-dance track that embodies the dares you not to get up and dance your heart out.

7. Tiesto- Summer Nights (Feat. John Legend – EDM super-producer and disk-jockey Tiesto’s summer ’16 offering is the model summer jam, seemingly encapsulating the relaxing warmth and essence of summer with John Legend’s -ahem- legendary falsetto in a short 3 minutes.
